The June CLE will be an online rebroadcast only. We will notify you as soon as it is available for viewing.
The current plan is that we will come together at Blount Mansion for our July CLE, if and only if, the Knoxville/Knox County Covid-19 guidelines allow. Blount Mansion can accommodate social distancing and we would have to wear a mask. However, the current guidelines state that we cannot eat together. I can’t wait to see everyone again! In the meantime, please stay well.
NALA AFFILIATE AWARD
The Smoky Mountain Paralegal Association proudly nominates Julie May, ACP to receive the Affiliate Award for her outstanding service to our paralegal association. Julie is currently our Second Vice President and serves as the chair of our Certified Paralegal Review Class Committee. Julie has committed herself to organizing, teaching, and searching out proctors for administering the CP exam for our members. She has been a member of SMPA for the past 6 years and has held various positions including NALA Liaison and Academic Outreach Director. Julie has been in the legal field for the past 25 years and a paralegal for the past 5 years. Thank you, Julie May for all of your hard work and dedication to the Smoky Mountain Paralegal Association!
MOBILE MEALS
The Friday, June 26, 2020, volunteers are Kelley Myers and Kathy Herd. Tuesday, June 30, is our responsibility as well. I would love to hear from two of you wanting to volunteer for this date.
I would like to thank our volunteers who are diligently serving during this time of social distancing. Volunteers are now delivering food again, but the meals are placed in bags and hung on the front door. The volunteer then rings the door bell, backs away an appropriate distances, and makes sure the recipient comes to the door and sees the food.
There is still an opening to volunteer with Mobile Meals. We need a volunteer for September 25 (1). Please email president@smparalegal.org with MOBILE MEALS in the subject line if you would like to volunteer. Thank you so much for your Tennessee Volunteer spirit!

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations are in order for those members who have passed the CP Exam this year. Great job! We have others who plan to sit for the exam as soon as our testing site opens back up for testing again.

2020 CLE OPPORTUNITIES
SMPA Online Video CLEs – SMPA has a bank of online CLEs available for you to view for credit. Click on MEMBER’S CONTENT tab to access the videos. You must be logged in to access the videos.
KBA Online Video CLEs – Staff of KBA Members can view any of the KBA Online CLE programs at no charge. Just choose the “FREE for Staff of KBA Members” registration rate. When prompted, choose the “I am NOT interested in applying for CLE credit for this program” option under credit selection. Everyone will still receive an attendance certificate, via the completion tab, once the video has been viewed at 100%. This has been used successfully to get NALA CLE credit by several of our members.

I know all of you are the shyest folks on the planet and you think no one could possibly want to know anything about you, but I WANT TO GET TO KNOW YOU!
