September CLE – Mobile Meals – Power of the Purse – Passing of Phillip J. Lawson, Esq.

September CLE

Kati Wheatley is diligently looking for speakers, scheduling recording sessions, and uploading CLE videos as quickly as possible. As soon as we have the next CLE video uploaded, I will sent out an email.

Remember that staff of KBA Members can view any of the KBA Online CLE programs at no charge. Just choose the “Free for Staff of KBA Members” registration rate. When prompted, choose the “I am NOT interest in applying for CLE credit for this program” option under credit selection. Everyone will still receive an attendance certificate, via the completion tab, once the video has been viewed at 100%. If you have any concerns about meeting your CLE requirements for re-certification, please email me at president@smparalegal.org.

We will not meet together for a CLE luncheon in the near future. Stay safe and stay well until we are together again.

Mobile Meals

The Friday, September 25, 2020, volunteers are Sheri Doubrley and Arlene Shoemaker. We have two deliveries for September. The second delivery date is Tuesday, September 29. Volunteers for this date are Caroline Sudlow and Arlene Shoemaker. Thank you all!

Please remember the meals are placed in bags and hung on the front door. The volunteer rings the door bell, backs away an appropriate distance, and makes sure the recipient comes to the door and sees the food.

If you have never volunteered with mobile meals and would like more information, please email president@smparalegal.org and I will be glad to send you the training packet.

Power of the Purse

We received the below announcement From Mobile Meals this week.

We are sending this message to notify you that for this year, we are transitioning to an online format in lieu of hosting our annual in-person fundraising event. The pandemic has created an array of new challenges for the Mobile Meals program.  We’ve had to adjust keeping safety first in mind for our clients, our staff and our volunteers while providing our service effectively.

We continue to serve meals and provide important wellness checks to our most vulnerable neighbors, with no interruption in delivery. By investing in Mobile Meals, seniors in our community can continue to benefit from the food, friendship and support that our program brings.  We are grateful for your support.

Please donate what you can today. Remember, it doesn’t matter how much you donate. It is the act of giving that brings the benefit to both the giver and the receiver.  Click the link to donate – Power of the Purse
